OOM: In Gotland with Bodhi and Galen

 It is the very height of summer now, so the fields are turning golden, the young animals in the meadows are nicely grown and running around when they are not stuffing their faces with the abundant grass, and the people are busy in the gardens and in the workshops and among the granaries.

One of the children points up at the procession coming down the barrow-hill, and then everybody is running up to meet them.

And they all fall in -- if only to snip their fingers, or to softly hum with the harps.

The release as they all fall to silence is palpable, leaving Bodhi breathless and grinning. "I've never- that was... very enjoyable."

[galen_erso]

"We shall do that again," Teja declares, eyes aglow. "Whenever we carry on with your tale."

Not now.

[imthepilot]

Not now.

"I'd like that. Very much." He smiles warmly.

{ooc: sorry about that!}

[galen_erso]

"But for now," Galen says, stretching a little, "we can probably call it a night."

[imthepilot]

Bodhi nods, looking to their hosts. "Do you mind if we-" he tries to find a polite way to ask if it's okay that they share a bunk.

[galen_erso]

"You can share the alcove at the end, which we keep for guests," Gotho says. "And we can look at the vegetable garden in the morning."

[imthepilot]

Bodhi flashes him a grateful nod, appreciating Teja's understand.

He helps pack up before they retire, packing the empty dishes back into the baskets.

That done, he takes Galen's hand and leads him to the alcove.

Galen takes off shoes and shirt, and lies down on the blankets with a deep yawn.

Bodhi does the same, cuddling in close. "This reminds me of Eadu, camping out in my crashed shuttle."

[galen_erso]

"We made love there," Galen murmurs, very quietly. "Would be very rude here, with all of them in earshot."

He settles beside Bodhi, ready for sleep, and yawns again.

"That's not what I mean." Bodhi chuckles, kissing Galen's cheek before snuggling down next to him.

He's emotionally strung out enough to sleep easily.

At some stage during the night, the cats return from whatever feline activities they had gone to and settle on the pillows beside them.

Bodhi reaches for Myrrh without needing to open his eyes, feeling her silky fur. Even as Kyber crawls in under the blankets looking for a warm spot to snuggle into. He mumbles his thanks for her company and goes back to sleep.

Galen wakes up, in the morning, to hearing g a child sing and feeling Kyber bump his face. Apparently, he decided that the humans slept enough.

Bodhi grumbles and curls tighter against Galen. As a pilot, Bodhi always use to be fully awake and on his feet at a moment's notice. Being dead has made him lazy.

Galen lifts his head to kiss Bodhi's cheek.

[imthepilot]

Bodhi hums happily and pulls Galen closer, trying to block out the light by burying his face in Galen's neck.

[galen_erso]

"My sleepy pilot," Galen murmurs fondly.

[imthepilot]

"Not a pilot any more." He mutters into Galen's shirt. "No flight instructors to chase me out of my bunk."

[galen_erso]

"So here you stay," Galen chuckles.

Kyber stands on Bodhi and stretches, waving his little striped tail in the air.

[imthepilot]

"You want me up too, don't you?" He grumbles at the kitten, rubbing between Kyber's ears. "Chase me out of bed so I can feed you."

[galen_erso]

The kitten yawns and gives an enthusiastic mewl at the word "feed". He may have been feasting on fat Gotland mice all night, but some food would be good.

Galen chuckles.

[imthepilot]

"I spoil you." Bodhi mutters, flipping Kyber over and tickling his tummy. "It's my own fault."

Of course Kyber protects his ticklish tummy with claws and fangs. A fierce little ball of fluff!

Galen reaches out and tickles Kyber's ears.
