OOM: Christmas dinner with Pyrrha and Egil

Teja opens the door, laden as he is.

His usually comfortable, creatively untidy room is still that -- there is even Ferdinand the cat, sprawling all over Teja's bed, fast asleep. There are simply two new doors, one of them leading to a kitchen that provides all the modern comforts and appliances as well as a space to comfortably sit and eat, the other leading to Egil's room in Loki's apartment on the 12th floor.

One better should not think about how that works.

"I can do that," she nods. "If I'm gonna be doing a clothing line here like I want to, I'll want good pictures--"

She stops, and does the speechless vague gesturing that generally accompanies her sudden ideas.

"This--this is what we're gonna do. We're gonna trade off inspirations. You make jewelry, I'll design clothes to go with them. I'll make clothes, you design jewelry to go with. We'll have a full collection together."

"That will work," Teja says. "Jewllery will not only be bracelets and rings and the like; there might be clothes that call for chainmail over one's shoulders, or pieces of plate armour upon the chest."

[scarred_grin]

"Masks, headpieces, belts, anklets--you put jewelry on whatever you feel like decorating, and I'll design something for it," she grins. "I love the idea of collaborating. As good as we are just being together, we'll see how we are at working together. We're gonna make some art."

"Art that will fit well with who wears it, that brings out their nature and connects to their traditions," Teja nods.

[scarred_grin]

"Maybe we'll get clients. I know people can just get whatever clothes they want from the bar, and when holidays come they're bound to get something strange, but we can make them something special. People will want to wear our designs."

[ostro_goth]

"Also, one day, we shall be out in the world again, in Vinci," Teja says. "Or in Philadelphia -- wherever we end up, because one is your door, and the other mine."

[scarred_grin]

"House of Pandora: Philadelphia, Vinci, Milliways," she says with a grin. "You know, if you'd want to make jewelry to go with Andi and Toro's designs, you'll have a market right there. And jewelry for them, for stagewear--that'd be good advertising for you."

"If we have a stable door to reach them, rather than just the once that we went, why not?" Teja says.

[scarred_grin]

"I'm sure we can get a proper door when... you know, when everything's settled," she says. "We can probably get a door right in their house, or maybe get a place of our own nearby so it's not all weird, us showing up out of nowhere."

"Then we could be in both places, as we choose," Teja says. "We must see if they are even in the same world. I shall mail a letter to Andy and Toro, the next time I am in Vinci, and bid them answer, on some pretext of surprising you."

[scarred_grin]

"We could send them a postcard," she says. "I always sent them postcards, when I was traveling. It would be cool if it got there."

She doubts it will, though.

Or maybe there's some other Andi and Toro in that world.

"Then we would still have no reply," Teja says. "Unless we went out your door, and asked."

[scarred_grin]

"Well, when we see them we can ask if they got it," she says. "Act like we're checking on the international mail, seeing how long it takes to send things."

[ostro_goth]

"Then that would be the most obvious way of seeing if your world is mine," Teja says, "which would make work later easier, as we would not have to go through Milliways to deliver."

[scarred_grin]

"As long as we don't have to spend a lot of time on airplanes," she says. "I still don't like flying. Just get really... restless, you know?"

She picks up a smaller, lighter gift-wrapped package, and hands it over.

Teja takes it, and opens it, instead of speaking more about postcards and airplanes.

Socks. Hand-knit, warm and thick socks, that technically have colorwork--but it's easy to overlook, because the socks are black, and the skull pattern all over them are done in dark grey.

Subtle goth.

"Something to help my cold feet in winter!" Teja exclaims. "That is a good thing; I can even wear them at work, now that I can use my moogle-made magical apron again, that prevents sparks from settling anywhere."

It would be a great pity to burn holes into those socks!

"I thought about making you some purple ones, but I didn't know if you wanted that much color," she says with a grin. "This way, you have a pattern, and if people are really looking they might see it--and I'll know it's there, and you'll know it's there, but otherwise they'll look normal."

"While I would not have minded the colour, finding importance in the warmth, and the very fact that they are a work of your hands," Teja says, "I must still say that black is what I am most used to wearing, so I do think I prefer them as they are."

"I may still make you really warm and really colorful slipper-socks to wear up here," she says. "Nobody else will see them. They'll just be our secret."

"As long as the cats would not consider them prey?" Teja says, smiling.

[scarred_grin]

"So no catnip or crinkly things in them?" she asks with a grin. "I wouldn't be that mean. Oh, look--you got another present."

She offers it over. Spoiler: it's a pineapple. It is a pineapple gift-wrapped in a very form-fitting way, so that its shape is very clear in spite of the paper.

Loki gave Pyrrha one, and she's just passing it along. The concept, not the individual pineapple. Her pineapple got turned into rum cake months ago.

"This is a -- plant that feeds upon itself?" Teja guesses, after unwrapping it.

[scarred_grin]

"Aw, you got pineappled," she grins.

"He wants a pineapple chain. I don't know. It's a fruit, and it's really good, and I'll make things from it for you--but the next time you give somebody a present, you also have to give them a pineapple. And they have to keep it going."

As far as semi-godly whims go, it's pretty mild.
