OOM: Lizard
Aug. 28th, 2008 10:55 pmTeja has been watching the lizards in the evening, playing on the wall by the outisde light, glutting themselves on insects at dusk. They tried to wait until you blinked, and only then would they move; and when you looked again, they were somewhere else.
Now, he has come to his room, to take off his straw hat, put on a warm shirt, and go find some company, if there is any. But as he takes off his hat and shakes out his hair, there is something tugging on a lock at the back, and then a little rustle, and something like a very small 'splat' sound.
Turning around, he sees a tiny lizard, no longer than than two inches, sitting on the floor and staring at him in dazed alarm that soon grows into fully-fledged panic.
"Finally one that would fear me as I shold be feared," he says, amused, half to imself, half to the lizard.
The tiny lizard looks at him in true, deep-rooted terror -- and finally flees, escaping all the dread fears that inside places, and humans, hold.
Leaving behind nothing but the tiniest of puddles, only a little drop, indication of just how afraid that little animal was.
"I have been reduced to having lizards wet themselves in fear of me," Teja says; and then has to sit on the bed, weak with spontaneous laughter.-
